Global Entrepreneurship Week has been celebrated through organizing a day long Startup Bootcamp for women named “STARTUP GIRL ”

National level boot camp for technology-driven women entrepreneurs held in Dhaka to share success stories of the local girls.
Technology firm Preneur Lab organised the event styled ‘Start-Up Girls’ in association with Startup Bangladesh proramme of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) division. Some 40 women entrepreneurs attended the day long bootcamp.
ICT Division Additional Secretary Syeda Sarwar Jahan was the chief guest while Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority Managing Director Hosne Ara Begum was guest of honour on the occasion.
Organisers informed that the event marked the Global Entrepreneurship Week where thousands of events and competitions in 170 countries inspire millions to engage in entrepreneurial activity while connecting them to potential collaborators, mentors, and even investors.
“Startup GIRL – Women Startup Boot Camp” has been initiated to help and promote women entrepreneurs through a day-long Bootcamp which included sessions, group task, pitching, panel discussion, networking and many more.
Women from all over Bangladesh has come and learned how they can utilize digital platform to increase their business visibility.
Additional Secretary Syeda Sarwar Jahan said,“ Startup Girl- Women Startup Bootcamp is a very nice and effective bootcamp for women and I appreciate PreneurLab to organize such a program for women.”
She added that PreneurLab should organize this type of program more and ICT Division will love to support them.
Among others, Ministry of Finance Additional Secretary Susanta Kumar Saha, Brithish Council English Head Suraya Jahan and LICT Project Investment Specialist Naima Chowdhury spoke in the meeting.
Additional Secretary Susanta Kumar Saha said, “Women should focus on their business, understand the legalization process of business which is one of the most important part of a business”. The entire panelists shared the opportunities that they are providing for women entrepreneurs.
Beside this, this bootcamp brought out bunch of speakers including Fahana, Society for Bangladesh Young Women Entrepreneurs Founder Farhana Nazneen, Unilever Bangladesh Media Manager Ahsanur Rahman and FCB Bitopi Digital Marketing Strategist Shoaib Rajiv also present on the occasion.
